    As the YomNetwork team continues work on the hefty DayZ Update we ask you, the community, to give us some ideas! Now is a better time than ever since we are making all the changes and additions NOW. Give us your feedback, things you like/dont like and things you want added or removed. Lets make this DayZ update perfect!

    We understand that DayZ has not been updated for the good part of 6-7 months or so, so we plan on making this DayZ Update a big one! You can expect great things from it, just look at how Infernal Realms turned out!

    Lots of fun and cool stuff coming to YomNetwork so keep posted!

    Here's a list of small things that could be fixed:

    - Money is super easy to get with token crates, maybe make the higher amounts harder to get?
    - Rare crates aren't rare, they're just uncommon.
    - Also, certain ammo (such as small cal) doesn't stack with different small cal from different kits you have. The descriptions are different and it doesn't allow them to stack. This is also the same for some high sniper cal and shotgun ammo.
    - Recipe notes have old, outdated recipes on them (such as the recipe for a backpack)
    - Add a message 10-20 minutes before the helicopter crashes. Something such as "You hear the sound of rotor blades far into the distance" to let everybody know that a crash is coming, this would make more people prepared to go. There would be even more fights/pvp near heli crashes.

    Side note: The economy in Infected is a problem. Money is super easy to get, limiting the chance of big rewards from token crates will help fix this problem. The addition of /market (The black market) will be a way to get money, instead of token crates (Sort of balancing out the nerf to token crates, while forcing players to work for money by selling items)

    Here's a list of things that could be added:


    - Black market (You've confirmed that this is being added, idk why I'm listing it)
    - NPCs who sells simple stuff, such as ammo, medical supplies and armour. The currency for this could be useful items found around the world, such as scrap metal, wooden boards, gun parts or box of parts* (NPCs would be trying to get back on their feet and ensure safezone stays safe).
    - A means of transport from safezone to major cities/checkpoints in the map (This would stop people from safezone camping and make getting around the map slightly easier for newbs).
    - New bosses/Revamp P0. Now, most of us have seen a boss room in Infernal. It would be pretty amazing if the same idea was brought to Infected (Boss rooms, boss music and such).
    - Smoke Monster, do something with him please :D
    - Server lore? Add item descriptions to rare items/new books (Or update the books, spelling/grammar errors, etc) that tell us what happened. Make us hunt and piece together clues about what occurred in places such as Drydale, Pompeii and tell us about the city of Morta (before it was bombed?)
    - Stats on common guns, dmg, velocity and reload time. You could possibly make the rare ones (such as PRL/xm8) unknown.
    - Add more places to explore! Such as the Drydale catacombs and Imperious sewers or even new buildings/towns, cities or makeshift settlements (People may have tried to settle but were eventually overrun). Signs that people tried to erect new safezones but failed (Could be a place for a boss?).
    - Mobs! May be hard to implement due to lag :(, you could have survivors who died and turned into zombies. They would drop medical supplies, ammo and some guns (Could even drop rare items and be similar to a hoarder?)
    - Texture pack! Maybe improve on some of the weapons in the texture pack?
    - Revamp some towns/buildings in popular spawn cities (Just to make some things seem fresh and new). Personally I loved exploring the map. Stumbling on a building or scene I haven't seen before was a great feeling. I'd like to be able to feel it again.
    - Music? We've seen music in Infernal and it would be pretty cool if we heard something in Safezone and around major cities.
    - GIVE LEGENDARY A REASON. Legendary rank is pretty pointless. One big thing that I really liked in Infernal was that Legend rank has meaning. You need Legend to be able to use certain gear and ride dragons. Maybe implement the same idea in Infected? Something to motivate people to rank to Legendary, such as a command/perk.


    *This could be items already in the game, so for example, a box of parts wouldn't only be used for upgrading guns. Different NPCs might ask for different items (such as cloth, sticks or fuel, or even player heads!)

    The red -, is ideas that I would personally LOVE to see.


    These are just random ideas/small things I thought of. If I think of any more I'll post them here.

    I really hope that with black market and hopefully money being more scarce people actually have to work for items and start looting army camps etc again. many people left infected because you can only ever find players at certain places such as hatch.

    Most of this has already been implemented AND MORE! I think youre gunna love this update! TONS coming :)

    We have also redeveloped ALL of our major backbone plugins to be more efficient customizable and fun! Such as thirst, hunger, bleeding, bites, broken bones, clans, building and so much more! Let alone all the guns being reworked and better, gunshots being heard from farther away so you know if a firefight is going down nearby, more places to explore (taken from the Build server so thanks guys!), I reworked loot system to make it more balanced and fun and rare guns rarer, I reworked crates so tokens are farrrr more balanced and harder to come by so easily. I also reworked Camo guns to make them ACTUALLY RARE like I always visioned them to be! Now Camo crates are the ONLY way to get camo guns and guess what..... camo crates now have the chance to give regular guns as well :) So they are basically like a Gun Crate, with a rare chance to get a camo gun! Making collecting these weapons far more fun and you can show them off far more! Clans will be reworked to be much better especially with Banners! Now when someone breaks a banner it only deletes the clan home not the clan (finally) also when someone in your clan places a new banner it resets the home location! This means you can actually make strong clans that dont get deleted every few hours! With our new building system you will be able to make extremely strong clan bases, even take over towns or cities for your clan with all the new strong block types! As well as being able to have coordinated clan raids and break through enemy bases to find where they store their loot and banner! After the update NO guns or weapons will be stackable/dupable so bye bye unbalanced gameplay! Since you wont be able to store hundreds of guns in your bank anymore you will need to work with your clan to make a strong base using all our new base building blocks and Storage boxes to store all your clans extra goodies, but look out for raiders! So much is coming on this DayZ update so prepare yourself! I also plan on updating Patient 0 to be more like a Infernal Realms boss fight! Not sure if I will add more boses or not. Anyways much more coming and also for people interested in the servers lore I have been going around adding stories to locations and giving backstory to the world!

    Also I along with some others have a thought about shortening the /home time just a little bit and also when u put together a box of parts and a soul weapon together, that the soul goes away, could be something that could be a change option that would be cool as well as like an extra storage option that u can carry on ur pers and u can die with such as a backpack :)

    I think a really cool should add zombie hoards that spawn in large citys that roam from place to place. and i'm not talkin' like 12 or 20, i'm talkin' like Walking Dead hordes of like 50-100 (or more!). When the horde spawns tho, it would say something in chat that "A large horde of zombies is in the city of (blank) and is headed to (blank)". So what this zombie group would have in terms of gear, it would be randomized so they could have leather outfits and shanks or the more rare ones of army and bayonets. So what the player would have to do is either hide in a building and lock the doors, get up someplace high where the zombies cant see you, or cant get you and just wait it out or take the daring risk of trying to defeat the horde solo or with friends.

    This idea thought cool sounding would have issues with lag, obviously. Its tough to find the perfect amount of zombies, too many or too few. I believe we currently have a good spawning system for them.

    Maybe for the update, you could add some more to SafeZone. By that I mean you should add the button accessible door again where you hit the button and the big doors slid open and closed so that you wouldn't be stuck outside SafeZone if you did /sz leave. Then to make it not a death zone when you leave, set the zombie spawns a little ways away from the SafeZone so you don't get eaten alive as soon as you leave. Then on top of all that, you should set up PK watch towers that were in the area to make SZ look more professional and safe and have PKs patrol the surrounding area. But outside SafeZone (past the doors) make it still pvp, but the PKs would discurrage it and would shoot you, along with the few zombies that happen to try to get in, so its not an immediate war zone as soon as you leave the boundaries of SafeZone to give lower level players or people not in the mood for a fight, a chance to live... (and you, i know that in order for this part to be 100% successful that the Peace Keepers would have to come back)

    Having Peacekeepers again might be fun considering the amount of new players Yom Network will be getting. But I think I speak for all of us as InfectedRPG players that the most important thing in this update would be..... adding a water source in safe zone :D

    Add controllable artillery please. This is something that I have been wanting for a while, since my sethome is near TMAS and it has multiple arty guns. With the addition of artillery, you may want to add arty shells (Can only be used with arty) to reload arty. They should be stackable up to (Insert number here) and be rarer than gold bullets, but more powerful than high cal sniper round. An arty platform should have 1 ammo, and have a 40 sec- 2 min reload (You decide). They deal massive splash damage and require fuel to operate. Also, they are only found in large army bases like TMAS, as mentioned before. But maybe only 1-2 per large base, because too many artys would make the game too unfair and would require a lot more time devoted to balancing out gameplay. I also agree with adding Peacekeepers, and water source in safe zone. I can't count how much times I have had to pull out my kit explorer and survivalist because my thirst was at 3.

    More bosses would be cool, even if its something as simple as a huge zombie what spawns.

    I'm pretty sure that most people who were around when there were peacekeepers would disagree with a reintroduction. they were a good idea but didn't work very well and lead to many players getting fed up with the server.

    I also don't think dungeons and infected mix very well, it will probs just end up with people farming them like with P0
