Destiny crates if you look on the store fit into the extreme crate category on Parties. They serve as the 'perk crates' if you will. They give rank perks. So like, the kit from platinum, /near, /hat, /nick, etc. When you get an item out of a Destiny crate, you have it forever, and its removed from your loot pool on the next crate. Essentially, you'll always get something new, until you have all the perks.
